Advanced Layout Strategies
Aisle System
Once you have multiple expansions:
- Create back-to-back shelves for aisles
- Leave 2-3 tiles width for customer movement
- Place decorations at aisle ends to attract attention
- Avoid dead-end aisles - customers get stuck
Traffic Flow Management
- Keep register area clear - especially the queue space
- Front-left counter is for reservations - don't block it
- High-traffic genres need more space around them
- Check calendar - some genres spike on event days
Specialized Zones
Arcade Zone (Sections D/E)
- Group arcade machines together
- Add candy dispensers nearby
- Creates passive income area
Adult Section (Section F)
- Use smallest back room
- Add adult movie displays
- Decorate with red balloons and heart lights
- Keeps content away from main floor
Decoration Strategy
Why Decorations Matter
Decorations increase store "Appeal" which drives more customer traffic and spending.
Placement Tips
- Balloons - Place near shelves to boost that section
- Movie displays - Highlight new releases
- Neon signs - Mark genre sections clearly
- Fill empty corners - Don't waste space
Pro Tip: Press V to enter move mode, then press B to cycle through different decoration designs.
Genre Grouping Ideas
Combine related genres to save space:
- Kids + Xmas - Family-friendly section
- Western + Police - Law & order theme
- Action + Horror - Intense movies
- Romance + Fantasy - Escapism section
Common Layout Mistakes
- Overcrowding: Too many shelves = customers can't move
- Blocking register: Queue needs 3-4 tiles of clear space
- Ignoring decorations: They directly increase profits
- Static layout: Rearrange as you unlock new genres
